Bryson's dad had a work meeting in San Mateo this week, so he decided to make a long weekend out of it and he stayed with us for a few nights. The kids were so excited to have their Poppy here! On Saturday, we went into the city and went to the Ferry Building Farmer's Market (which we do any time someone comes to visit because we love it so much) and then went to Baker Beach. At the farmer's market, Ava was beyond excited to pick out 3 honey sticks. And as if things couldn't get any better, she was given a free balloon flower/heart thing and that just made her day haha. Gavin was so good, just sitting in the stroller taking it all in and sampling on peaches, nectarines and apricots every chance he got. I think the highlight of Ava's morning was petting every dog she came in contact with. Sweet girl.
The beach was FREEEEZING and so windy, but that didn't stop my kids from having a blast. They were covered in sand from head to toe instantly. Ava collected rocks and shells and loved digging in the sand. Both kids loved chasing the sea foam as it blew across the beach, and running from the water as it chased them up the beach. After the beach, we stopped by Deliboard for some sandwiches and then Ici Ice Cream in Berkeley. Yum yum! What a great day - we just wish Grandpa could stay longer, or visit more often!!
